FIRESIDE BOILER CLEANING PRODUCTS

Combustion deposit problems with boilers: Sooting and corrosive combustion deposits are common fireside occurrences in boilers, air heaters and furnaces. These deposits have to be removed manually by brushing, scraping, or by rotary cutters. Manual cleaning is rarely perfect, and often cannot reach inaccessible sections of the heating plant.

The adhesive properties of unburnt carbon result in a build-up of incombustible solids, ash and carbon on heat transfer surfaces. Carbon and other deposits act as a thermal barrier, reducing heat transfer and boiler efficiency, leading to higher flue gas temperatures.

Kamco has a range of fireside boiler cleaning products which enable oil, coal, and gas fired boilers to be cleaned quicker and more efficiently, with less effort, to restore boiler efficiency and reduce fuel consumption.

The need to clean: Boilers, steam generators and air heaters burning hydrocarbon fuels invariably accumulate combustion and corrosion deposits over a period of time. These deposits act as an insulant and also disturb the designed gas flow, causing a progressive fall in efficiency and increasing fuel usage. The table below demonstrates the dramatic loss in efficiency as deposits build up.

Regular cleaning is necessary to prevent this happening, but manual cleaning of the fire-side of oil, coal and gas fired boilers is time consuming, dirty and unpleasant. Added to this, many modern boilers have complex, internally finned gas passages of irregular shape, and these are almost impossible to clean thoroughly by manual methods, such as brushing and scraping.

SOOTBREAKER and SCALEBREAKER fireside boiler cleaning products are formulated to make cleaning quicker, easier and more effective, with less physical effort.
